Introduction

Our country has many important symbols and holidays.  We will be doing some research to learn more about these symbols and holidays.  Which symbol or holiday are you interested in learning more about?

Task

As a class, we will come up with a list of symbols and holidays.  You will then work with your teacher to decide what symbol or holiday you will research.

This project will include:

A paragraph on your symbol or holiday (topic sentence, at least three body sentences, and a conclusion)

One picture relating to your symbol or holiday

A speech on your symbol or holiday

Process

For your research, you may use books from the library, databases, and the Internet.  If you use the Internet, make sure you use good, reliable sites!
